Welcome
The Liminal Space - Notes on the In-Between
I’m Charles.
I’m 30 and from the UK.
I’m a failed rockstar.
I studied Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Oxford.
I’m still a recovering corporate warrior, having spent seven years working for Serco in various roles including general manager of Edinburgh Cycle Hire, Chief of Staff & Head of Strategy for the UK & Europe, and global Head of Innovation.
In August 2024 I moved to Boston, MA, to study for my MBA at Harvard Business School.
Here, I’ve met two co-founders, and I am building a business with them to be the Uber for the home. A platform that connects busy people with trusted and vetted support in their communities to tackle their to-do lists.
Time is our most precious resource, and we should all have the ability to spend it on things that give us energy with people we love, not doing errands and chores.
This blog is a series of fragments. My reflections, learnings from building something ‘ex nihilo’, and thoughts on how I manage a series of significant transitions in all parts of my world.
It’s not a business blog. It’s not a diary.
It’s something like a notebook left open on a bench,
between one thing and the next.
Welcome.
Charles.
